As popular and competitive as softball is in Southern California, there is an underwhelming lack of choices for young softball players when it comes to their softball camp opportunities. Summer Softball Camp held at Francis Parker School in San Diego offers three, two-week sessions for girls ages 8-14, Monday through Friday 12:30-3:30pm. The three, two-week sessions would be broken up into different camps based on experience and age level.
They are as follows:
- The first two-week session caters to girls at the 8U level who have 0-2 years of experience. In this session we will focus on developing basic throwing and catching skills, fundamentals about the game, learning field positions and their purposes, as well as provide basic hitting instruction.
- The second two-week session caters to girls at the 10U level with 2-3 years of experience. This session will better develop catching and throwing skills, provide batting instruction, as well as begin the basics of situational scenarios.
- The final two-week session caters to the 12U-14U level with 3 or more years of experience. This session will delve deeper into the essentials of the game and field positions. The girls will work on developing their hitting and bunting skills, various infield and outfield techniques, as well as more dynamic situational scenarios.
